How Can My Gut Be Leaking?
Leaky Gut is a condition where the permeability of the intestines increases, usually as a result of poor diet, anxiety, medication use, and a disruption of the normal balance. An optimal functioning intestinal tract typically allows only certain food molecules and nutrients to pass through while keeping out many of the bad, pro-inflammatory causing substances.
Over time and with repeated exposure, these channels become damaged, malfunction and allow other bulkier substances through like the milk protein - lactose, wheat protein - gluten, or other bacteria and yeasts that can drive inflammation.
