Manual Therapy vs Therapeutic Exercise

Untitled design (8).png

A study was recently performed to determine what gets better results for treating chronic neck pain: manual therapy (which includes a chiropractic adjustment) or therapeutic exercise.

Guess what???

They both work and had similar results.

The manual therapy showed slightly better outcomes in reducing the pain quickly, but the therapeutic exercises showed greater improvement with increased function as measured by the neck disability index.

This reinforces the purpose of incorporating both in the HealthSource model. Adjustments AND manual techniques can help with getting the pain under control quickly and the progressive rehab helps get our patients back to Doing What They Love quickly!
