An Avocado a Day, May Lower Your Cholesterol One Day!
If you are anything like me you know how delicious and nutritious an avocado is. I can put it on just about any meal and it tastes great! And it’s also the perfect substitute for Mayonnaise. Researchers now say that eating an avocado a day, can help lower your cholesterol. All the more reason to start eating more!
In a recent study done by Pennsylvania State University, 3 groups of subjects were places on 3 different diets: lower-fat diet and 2 moderate-fat diets (one with daily consumption of ONE avocado).
Here’s what happened:
All diets lowered the cholesterol of the participating subjects (45 to be exact). The Diet containing avocado lowered the LDL Cholesterol by 13.5 milligrams per deciliter; the other moderate-fat diet caused a decrease of 8.3 milligrams per deciliter, and the low-fat was a drop of 7.4 milligrams per deciliter in cholesterol.
I mean this study proves to me that a little more avocado in our lives can defiantly be a good thing.
