People have been juicing and making smoothies for decades as a way to get more fruits and vegetables into their diets, but the craze really started to take off when high-powered blenders began popping up.

But by throwing a few handfuls of spinach, a banana, two carrots, blueberries and some oats in a blender and drinking it all up, you get a convenient and filling way to drink your nutrition. And smoothies are much better than juicing because you get the high-fiber roughage that juicers discard when they extract the liquid from produce.
