I am a licensed massage therapist. I grew up in Medina and graduated from Medina High School. I currently reside in Wadsworth with my husband Chris and two children.
I went to Kent State University. I have 18 years experience with working with disabilities and special needs in a variety of settings such as; rehabilitation, physical therapy, occupational therapy and special education. I decided to go back to school and become a licensed massage therapist because I enjoyed seeing the progress that people made after they were going through their therapy and the difference it made.
I've been able to help many people through massage and therapeutic exercise. I'm certified in neuromuscular therapy, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, pregnancy, and sports massage. I served an internship at Stewart's Caring Place in Fairlawn and the Akron Marathon while going to school. Massage helps with a variety of things, such as; enhancing athletic performance, reducing the symptoms of disorders or of pain in the muscles and nervous system, pain management, and maintaining a healthy balance in your daily life. I enjoy helping people reach their wellness goals.
Health and fitness have always been a passion of mine but after a very difficult time in my life, I realized that my health was suffering due to neglect. I decided that I needed to be the happiest, healthiest person I could be. Not only for myself but for my children. I enrolled in the Institute for Integrative Nutrition to not only get myself back on the right path but to be able to share with others my passion for healthy, vibrant living. As a Certified Health Coach, working with clients one on one or in small groups is key in helping them achieve their own personal health goals by providing education, support and accountability. Every day I appreciate the fact that we have a choice to do what is right for our body, mind and spirit.
