Dr. Samantha Lucas attended her first year of undergraduate studies at Montana State University in Bozeman, when she discovered her passion for Chiropractic. In 2010, she moved to Iowa where she finished her undergraduate studies and began her Doctorate of Chiropractic degree at the highly accredited Palmer College of Chiropractic. This is where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree and her Doctorate in Chiropractic. Dr. Lucas is certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and licensed by the South Dakota Board of Chiropractic Examiners. She purchased HealthSource of Spearfish in September of 2018 and has since strived to provide exceptional care to her patients. Throughout Dr. Lucas’ life experiences and schooling, she has developed a great desire to help people of all ages. Her chiropractic studies have given her a wonderful set of tools to make this possible. She spent additional time focusing her studies toward soft tissue therapies, rehabilitative exercise, and treatment of sports injuries, maternity chiropractic care and pediatric chiropractic care. When she’s not in the office helping others, she’s out enjoying activities like hiking, camping, fishing, boating and everything else this beautiful area has to offer. Dr. Lucas grew up in the Gallatin Valley area of Montana with 5 of her closest siblings and a large extended family. Her upbringing taught her the importance of family and enjoying the simple things in life. She married in April of 2021, then she and her husband, John, welcomed their first child in January of 2022. Dr. Lucas enjoys the small town feel of Spearfish which reminds her of where she grew up in Montana – making Spearfish the perfect place to raise a family.

Shelby leads the rehabilitation area at HealthSource of Spearfish. She also helps with new patients, X-Rays, Spinal Decompression, foot scans, as well as being Dr Sam’s youngest sister. She moved to Spearfish in December of 2019 to finish high school early. She has a passion for video games, hanging out with friends, and spending time with family. She loves camping and nice warm days at the lake fishing, riding jet-skis, and soaking up the sun.

I was in Sturgis for the Bike rally. I had been having fairly moderate pain down my neck and back for quite a few weeks before and didn’t have time to get it checked out. When I started riding daily for long periods during the rally, the pain became almost unbearable by late in the day. I asked about a chiropractor on the bike rally Facebook page and many people referred me to Dr. Sam at the Buffalo Chip campground. At first I thought what kind of Dr works out of a campground but then I went for a visit, and found that she opens an office there for the rally to help us decrepit fat bikers, and boy was I surprised at the professionalism and abilities of Dr Sam. She was absolutely amazing. I’m a big ole walrus and she is a little tiny thing and knew she was going to have a workout. Before I knew it she had me wadded up like a pretzel cracking things I didn’t know would crack, and oh man did it hurt, but it hurt so good. She told me to come back as often as needed. I went back later that day and then two more times later during the rally. My back was still somewhat sore because I had neglected treatment for so long but it was SO much better than before Dr Sam smacked me around real good. I’m back home in Florida now and have been pain free for over a week now. I honestly haven’t felt this good in quite a while. I wish I had the time and the money to fly to SD every couple weeks and get beat up by Dr Sam. She is the best bone cracker I’ve come across in all of my travels. THANK YOU DR SAM❗️❗️❗️And she also has great office staff too❗️ I believe Shelby I think her sister and then a guy I don’t remember his name were both great to work with as well! I have benefited from regular chiropractic care my entire adult life, and have been treated by a wide variety of Doctors across this Country over the past 40 years.
Hands down, (literally) Dr Sam has a skill set that ranks her among the top practitioners I have ever seen.
Although I stay active and work every day, I’m not an ‘easy adjust’, and certainly have a few chronic issues like many people my age.
Not a problem for this Doctor.
After just a few months of visits I have not only greatly restored range of motion, but have regained a sense of well-being that has eluded me for some time.
One regret – that our paths hadn’t crossed sooner.
